Translation memories

Deutsch | English | Espańol

Do you have the source documents together with their relevant translations, but they are not included in a translation memory?

Should you wish to compile in a database the content of the original documents together with their perfectly matching translations, creating a translation memory is definitely one of the most effective methods to do so.  This way, you will be able to correlate the source documents with their translations, making it easier to establish a cross-reference between them, and therefore preventing large amounts of information from getting lost. In addition, you may use previous translations in order to accelerate the drafting of future ones.

Should the customer rely on in-house translators, regardless of whether they use computer aided translation tools (CAT) or not, a translation memory will always be welcome in order to speed up their task. In the case that a team of in-house translators is not an option, the customer will still be able to send the memory to external translators and achieve the same result. Needless to say, a translation memory is highly useful when it comes to maintaining the terminological and official consistency required in every translation. This may be a very positive asset for both the actual client and his commercial image.
